The bullion misunderstanding
My profession is generally seen as a boring and totally monotonic one. I am a banker and work for one of the biggest banking company in Europe. I am an assistant to the main manager and my tasks are various. Really various. From dealing with normal customers to signing invoices and fulfilling different objectives on piece basis. It happens extremely rarely that there is something to laugh about at work - nothing unusual ever happens and that makes our daily routines generally boring. But, from time to time there are some smaller or bigger misunderstandings which lead to funny situations. Last year for example, we had a funny mistake made by our accountants. They counted the bullion reserve wrong and that led to many trouble. Later on it was funny but at the time when it was actually going on we had absolutely no smiles on our faces. Our accountants entered a wrong number of bullion bars on one invoice. Instead of a thousand, they put in a million. This led to a gigantic tax to be paid at the end of the year... After all, it all finished with laughter after the bullion misunderstanding was cleared. No one had to bear consequences of that error and everything ended quite positively thanks to our managers and their fair approach towards it.
