Personal Statement:

Anne Noble-Partridge, originally from the West Country, has lived and worked in London for the past six years. Since graduating in 1997 she has exhibited regularly in the UK and internationally, both in Europe and America, working with artists from Poland, Holland, Norway and Brazil. During May this year she was invited to exhibit in The Crypt Gallery at St Pancras Church, in conjunction with the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music.

As well as continuing her studio practice and exhibiting, she now curates graduate exhibitions and teaches life drawing and painting.

Her work is almost exclusively figurative and has incorporated painting, drawing, photography, video and object making. The body and space is a theme which is consistently addressed, whether absent, or present, inside or outside. Light plays a major role in emphasizing these elements and is used to inject a sense of the ethereal.

During the past two years Anne's work has returned to drawing and painting. Her most recent work explores the human form using the simplicity of line and light, mixing strong colour with delicate paint quality.
She works in oil, charcoal and pastel, manipulating their respective natures in a way that mirrors and complements. Her paintings have the quality of water colours with the strong and luscious tones of pastels, her fluid drawing also captures the flow of water colour and her pastels a painterly quality.
